We are a Finnish company and one of the first operators in the industry. While some buyers melt down everything they receive and pay only for scrap gold, we also buy jewelry for resale. 

We value the items we receive not only based on material and weight, but also on the manufacturer’s design value. We examine hallmarks and markings and investigate the origin of the item. Well-maintained and interesting items are resold, and we pay more for these than for items that are melted down. In addition to gold, KultaRahaksi also accepts items made of other materials. 

We usually transfer the payment to your bank account on the day of the evaluation. Transactions completed after 4:00 PM are paid on the next business day. Smaller transactions can often be paid in cash immediately.

Yes, we always carefully examine the gold content of items, so this is not a problem.

We aim to handle all items with great care. We primarily use X-ray equipment to assess metal content. In certain special cases, we may need to perform tests to determine precious metal content, which may leave a small mark on the item. In such cases, the test is always done in the least visible area possible. If the item belongs to the Kalevala, Lapponia, fashion jewelry, design jewelry, or diamond jewelry categories, no tests that could damage the item are carried out without the owner’s explicit consent. 

For broken, incomplete, or repair-needing items classified as precious metal scrap, stones are removed to determine the precious metal weight. 

We have a permanent store in central Helsinki, behind the Ateneum museum. Ateneuminkuja 2, 00100 Helsinki. We do not currently organize tours.

We use officially inspected precision scales for weighing precious metals and other items. The inspections are carried out every three years by Kiwa.

KultaRahaksi® Helsinki buys a wide range of gold items. We accept old jewelry, watch cases, dental gold, gold bars, and gold coins. Broken items are also accepted. We are interested in all gold, whether it is 24-, 18-, 14-, or 9-carat gold. Both like-new and well-worn items are accepted — all gold is valuable to us.

Our evaluation process is designed to be fast and smooth. Typically, the evaluation takes about 5–15 minutes, depending on the number and type of items you bring. We aim to keep waiting times short so you can take care of the matter even during your lunch break.

You can estimate the value of your gold using our calculator. The calculator gives you an estimate of how much we would pay for your old jewelry and other precious metal items. It is based on the current market value of precious metals. 

Unfortunately, we cannot provide an exact preliminary valuation without seeing and examining the items in person. Many factors affect the value of gold items, such as weight, gold content, and condition. We recommend bringing your items directly to our Helsinki store, where our experts can provide an accurate and reliable on-site evaluation. 

If you are not satisfied with the price we offer, you can choose not to sell your items to us. You will receive your items back immediately, and there is no charge for the evaluation. Our goal is always to pay a competitive price and ensure that you experience our service as safe and fair.

Ensuring the origin of items is a top priority for us. We use carefully designed procedures and due diligence to make sure that all items we purchase have been legally acquired. We always ask customers for identification and, if necessary, additional information about the origin of the items. We also cooperate with authorities and report any suspicious cases. This ensures that our operations are ethical and legal — for both our customers and us.

Yes. Although our name refers to gold, we also buy other precious metals such as silver and platinum. In addition, we are interested in gemstones, especially diamonds when they are part of jewelry. Our experts are also able to accurately evaluate these items. So if you have, for example, old silver cutlery or diamond rings at home, bring them with you to our store. We are happy to evaluate all precious metals.
